The second session, titled “Green Policies and Feasible Projects,” was successfully held as part of the Green Transformation Platform, established in collaboration between the IMEAK Chamber of Shipping and Piri Reis University to contribute to the green transformation of the maritime sector.
The session took place at a time when dynamics such as the global climate crisis, environmental regulations and the energy transition are pushing the maritime sector to transform. It marked a critical step toward aligning the sector with sustainable development goals.
The session presented concrete project examples in priority areas such as reducing the carbon footprint, improving energy efficiency, integrating renewable energy systems, green port practices, waste management, the use of alternative fuels and digitalization. Each project shared helped the sector not only develop its vision but also produce feasible and measurable solutions.
The session was attended by public authorities, academia and private sector representatives, and the importance of sustainability-focused collaboration models was emphasized once again. Participants agreed that collective wisdom and joint action are vital for Türkiye to achieve the green transformation of its maritime sector and to strengthen its international competitiveness together with environmental sustainability.
Built on the idea that “green transformation is only possible together,” this gathering showed that environmentally friendly projects are not just ideas but concrete steps. The outcomes of the session are regarded as a strategic reference point that will contribute to the sector’s vision of a green future.
Participation in this event is free of charge.
