"Turkish Seas and Blue Heritage" Event Held

Piri Reis University hosted an important event that strengthens its vision in the maritime field. The program, titled “Turkish Seas and Blue Heritage,” featured a valuable presentation by Prof. Dr. Harun Özdaş, Head of the Department of Marine Sciences at Dokuz Eylül University’s Institute of Marine Sciences and Technology.

The event offered a comprehensive look at the historical, cultural and scientific heritage of Türkiye’s seas and informed participants about blue heritage awareness. Prof. Dr. Özdaş shared insights on many important topics, including maritime history, underwater research and conservation work, and was a particular source of inspiration for young seafarers.
